Enhancing the livelihood security of people in rural areas by guaranteeing at least 125 days of wage-employment in a financial year to rural households whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work.

About the Council

The Madhya Pradesh State Grameen Rojgar Guarantee Council (MPSGRGC) is a statutory body constituted under Section 12 of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005.

Headquartered in Bhopal, the Council functions under the Department of Panchayat & Rural Development, Government of Madhya Pradesh. It is responsible for:

  • Monitoring and reviewing implementation of VB-GRAM G in the state
  • Determining the work to be undertaken and fixing wages
  • Advising the state government on matters related to VB-GRAM G
  • Ensuring transparency and accountability through social audits
  • Promoting convergence with other rural development schemes
  • Overseeing DBT payments and job card seeding

About VB-GRAM G

The Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-GRAM G) is India's largest public works programme. Enacted in 2005, it provides a legal guarantee of employment to rural households.

125 days Guarantee

Every rural household is entitled to at least 125 days of unskilled manual work per financial year.

Minimum Wage

Workers receive state-notified VB-GRAM G wage rates, paid directly to bank/post office accounts via DBT.

Permissible Works

Water conservation, drought proofing, flood control, land development, roads, and individual beneficiary works.

Social Audit

Mandatory social audits ensure transparency. Gram Sabhas review all works and expenditures.

Job Cards

Every eligible household receives a Job Card — a legal document entitling them to work on demand.

Women Empowerment

At least 1/3rd of workers must be women in each district.

Our Mandate

Periodically review and monitor the implementation of the scheme, ensuring works are completed on time and within budget.

Advise the State Government on matters relating to the implementation of the scheme and the manner in which wages should be paid.

Ensure that workers' grievances are addressed promptly. The Council oversees the grievance redressal mechanism at district and state level.

Promote transparency through proactive disclosure, social audits, and public display of muster rolls and expenditure details.

Guide convergence of VB-GRAM G with PM Awas Yojana (G), PM Krishi Sinchai Yojana, and other state government schemes.
